Ina’s Blueberry Crumb Cake

I recently spent a weekend summering within the Hamptons (as the Hampton people say), and that i ought to say – it’s wonderful the impact driving some of hours outside of town will wear your psyche. It’s just like the pressure to be productive at each moment of the day simply disappears with the skyline. you discover yourself enjoying a breeze while not most as a touch of guilt regarding the laundry you must be reading, the additional physical exercise you must be going in, or the multiplying red variety on your Gmail app. you simply exist. And damn, will it feel sensible.

Since the Hamptons is a lot of of a special treat on behalf of me than a daily incidence, i made a decision to try and do what any traditional human would and fake that i used to be Ina Garten, ruling QUEEN of the Hamptons. Naturally. So today, I make her masterpiece of a Hamptons summer breakfast, the blueberry cake.

Normally, I draw inspiration from recipes and tweak them to suit my very own preferences. except for this one, i made a decision to trust our Queen and let Ina take the wheel. I mean, there must be a reason it’s a 5 STAR rating on foodnetwork.com over 502 reviews, right?

But even once I was creating the formula, i used to be tempted to vary many things.

Should I build one.5X the number of crumble that this calls for? Recipes perpetually underestimate the number of crumble you would like. i like crumble. folks love crumble. What if there’s not enough then folks eat it and suppose this is often what quantity crumble I notice appropriate?! may I even tolerate myself? I simply don’t recognize.

But I ironed on. ~Have religion, my child~, my inner Ina aforementioned to Pine Tree State. this is often not fucking skinny style. Ina is aware of however you’re feeling regarding crumble.

Fifteen minutes later, as I divided the crumble equally over the highest, I knew that my inner Ina was right. this is often not a crumble topping. this is often a crumble LAYER. this is often a lot of crumble than I ever fanciful or even even unreal of. It’s virtually superfluous, and fantastically good at an equivalent time.

With that aforementioned – I encourage you all to follow our Queen into the glory that’s the blueberry cake. You won’t regret it.
