Chocolate Covered Banana Bites

I have heard the phrases repeatedly, “You live once and then you die. You might as well enjoy it” and “You might as well live a little.” Those who have adopted this into their belief system must surely be fine with type 2 Diabetes onset by obesity and heart attacks, along with other health complications that have resulted from the typical American artificial diet. I confirm that this philosophy is completely false.

For example, I have encouraged my children to drink exclusively water and all natural drinks. The other day, my son was at an event and was given a drink loaded with dyes. It was 32 ounces of artificial junk, which he consumed rather quickly. By morning, his chest was completely covered in hives. There was not a spot free of bumps. He did not have hives on any other portion of his body. I questioned him and deducted that he had an allergic reaction to the lovely Blue or Yellow dye in the drink. Thus we see, my son is not missing out on “living a little” or “enjoying it” as the great philosophers in the above mentioned paragraph phrase it. It is dangerous for him to consume the typical fake products that are found on the grocery shelf (Just because he shows outward signs of danger does not mean that those dyes aren’t terrible for anyone to consume. What are the dyes doing to the internal organs?).

So, my philosophy is, “You can live a little and enjoy it!” That palate excitement that everyone seeks needs to be found with all natural ingredients. There are many great tasting all natural drinks that are dye-free. Also, there are countless fabulous tasting desserts that are made with all natural ingredients. It doesn’t take a PhD to figure out this way of life. All that is required is an open mind and a willingness to give up old addictions (by the way these addictions are making the producers of the artificial foods filthy rich and the health care system as well).

A great way to excite the taste buds is with these all natural, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Chocolate Covered Banana Bites! They taste wonderful, are completely all natural, simple to concoct, and do not heat the kitchen up during the scorching summer days. Enjoy!

Slice the bananas into bite size pieces (about 5 or so per banana). Place on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Place in the freezer for about 30 minutes. Remove from the freezer.

In a pan add the dark chocolate chips with the olive oil. Melt the chips and mix the olive oil in. Remove from heat and spread the chocolate onto the bananas with a knife or spoon. (I have rolled them into the chocolate to make the process quicker, but bits of banana came off into the chocolate. Then, it makes it harder to put on the other bananas and they do not look as good). Place each chocolate covered banana on the the cookie sheet lined with wax paper.

Once all of the bananas are coated with chocolate, place the cookie sheet back into the freezer for 30 minutes. Remove from the freezer and enjoy. These need to be consumed soon, since the bananas can go mushy. I store any extras in the fridge. It is best to make small batches of this recipe and eat fresh
