There are two powers that I have come to understand with greater magnitude, which I never comprehended before. They are hope and peace. I would like to share my thoughts on peace. I have discovered through personal experiences that the challenges of life are too overwhelming when my mind is clouded with fear, anger, bitterness, hurt, or misconceptions. These emotions can be so consuming that they obscure my vision of things as they really are. For example, as I hang onto anger, I cannot clearly see the love that is right in front of me and my choices become based on an emotion that is false. Once the anger subsides, the situation does not seem as hopeless as it previously did, leaving me wondering what I was so worked up over.
Here is where peace comes in. As I allow peace to fill my heart, I feel my burdens lightened. My load that I heft around seems to have been lifted. I am calmer and I see the beauty in front of me. My distorted vision is removed and I view things as they really are . I remember recently saying a prayer of gratitude that my daughters were doing simple tasks that are common place. During that prayer of thanks, my heart filled with overwhelming peace.
Now that I have experienced this harmony in my life, I am finally living. I don’t want to hide behind fear, anger, bitterness, hurt, or misconceptions any longer. These emotions bind me down and sabotage my relationships with others. I experience freedom when I understand and sense peace. I conclude that the greatest miracles in life occur when hearts soften and vision is restored through the power of peace.

I also substituted crookneck squash for zucchini.
