Ever since I converted to all natural foods, marinades have been somewhat scary. I had contemplated many times how I would attempt an all natural marinade and came up empty. So, I simply gave up. Then, a great friend shared this marinade with me. She shared with me her special secret of substituting with coconut aminos. The funny thing is that we are so much alike. I received the recipe from her and then tweaked it somewhat. She always does that with my recipes as well. I believe that is the pure joy of cooking. I can experiment with flavors and find what works for me. Here is my version of the all natural gluten-free, dairy-free, Chicken Teriyaki Marinade that was inspired by Michelle S.
All Natural Chicken Teriyaki Marinade
1/4 cup water
1 TBSP organic cane sugar
2 TBSP coconut aminos
1 TBSP freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 TBSP olive oil
1/8 tsp black pepper
1/8 tsp garlic powder
2 boneless skinless chicken breast
In a bowl add all of the ingredients, except for the chicken. Mix well.
